Hi! I'm Shannon. I am a registered nurse, personal trainer and competitive athlete who is lucky enough to be operating my coaching practice out of RiSE Functional Fitness. IMPETUS Training Systems is a evidence based, client focused personal training service. I utilize a body positive and trauma informed lens to provide coaching that supports health across the life span through movement. IMPETUS is currently talking on clients for 1 on 1 private functional fitness and strength training, and will be opening up to semi-private and small groups in the future. I have special experience in barbell training, and will be offering sessions focused on gaining familiarity with barbell movements in particular as well. I believe that fitness should be accessible to every human being, and will work with you to find what is safe, enjoyable and effective to meet your needs.

Although fitness has always been a part of my lifestyle, it really blossomed during a challenging period of life for me. It allowed me to take an hour out of my day, for myself, by myself. It became more about movement than fitness, and more about self-care and well-being. It became a way to process my emotions.

Now, I understand the gym isn’t always the most accessible of places, but there is movement everywhere. Whether it be outdoors or in the comfort of your home. We can make it possible! As a certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor, I strive to create confidence in movement. An environment where you can learn safely, be challenged and feel empowered. I look forward to getting to know you!
